Location and Reporting Structure:
This position is based in Miami and reports to the Engineering Manager.
Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer, Level 2, is essential in advancing and optimizing manufacturing processes, contributing to both new and existing product designs. The role demands a strong understanding of manufacturing practices to solve complex challenges, develop innovative solutions, and drive continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles. This position also requires collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that processes align with engineering and customer needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes, support projects, and ensure alignment with engineering and customer requirements.
- Design and Documentation: Lead the creation of designs, drawings, and concepts using SolidWorks and maintain thorough documentation, including models, drawings, and assembly procedures.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve complex manufacturing challenges to meet project goals and quality standards, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
- Custom Manufacturing: Oversee custom manufacturing requests, serving as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to ensure needs are met.
- Technology and Automation: Research and integrate new technologies and automation solutions to enhance production efficiency.
- Training and Support: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions to ensure the production team is equipped with the necessary skills for new equipment and processes.
- Process Monitoring: Ensure manufacturing processes are continuously evaluated and improved.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering roles, with a proven track record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Strong ability to analyze and solve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen practices.
