Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician oversees the upkeep of manufacturing equipment and with their extensive experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting, they will repair and maintain the electrical and mechanical machinery throughout the facility
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits using devices like ohmmeters and voltmeters for system compatibility and safety.
- Capable of assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment.
- Responsible for facility maintenance, covering lights, HVAC, electrical lines, outlets, and plumbing needs.
- Demonstrates mechanical knowledge for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and gas-fired ovens.
- Safely operates mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and JLG-type equipment.
- Physically capable of working from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs for electrical wiring, equipment, and fixture installations, maintenance, or repairs.
- Collaborates in a team of skilled trade workers for installation and maintenance projects.
- Adheres to safety policies, including proficiency in LOCK out TAG and confined space procedures.
- Conducts preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability.
- Communicates effectively with all departments to coordinate maintenance activities and address issues promptly.
- Promptly responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including potential weekend and after-hours assignments.
Requirements:
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible journey level electrical experience; or completion of a four-year approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance and two (2) years electrical experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- PC software — Microsoft Excel, Word, email, etc.
- Bilingual Preferred Must be able to lift 45 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by lifting, walking, bending, twisting and carrying materials.
- Ability to work 7am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday with the occasional overtime and Saturdays.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Style
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, encompassing small hand tools, Arc/mig welding, hand grinders, and torches.
- Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material: Conducting inspections to identify the cause of errors, problems, or defects in equipment, structures, or materials.
- Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates: Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates through telephone, written form, email, or in-person communication.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Proficient in identifying and resolving issues with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Experience in implementing preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability.
- Team Collaboration: Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and coordination with other technicians.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the field.
- Documentation Skills: Accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
- Customer Service: Demonstrates good communication skills when interacting with internal teams or external vendors.
- Time Management: Efficiently uses time to prioritize tasks and meet maintenance schedules.
- Initiative: A willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
