Tuuci®, the design manufacturer of nautically inspired parasols and shade structures, announces the opening of a new flagship showroom in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, Suite #1419, as part of the brand’s year-long celebration of its 25th year in design and engineering innovation. The new showroom experience was recently completed, just in time for NeoCon 2023, taking place June 12-14, 2023.
“Our goal with the new showroom is to represent the feeling of how Tuuci products are enjoyed in situ, while referencing the brand’s marine roots,” said Dougan Clarke, Founder, CEO and Chief Product Architect for Tuuci. “From the space’s nautical blue accents and teak millwork finishes to flexible product vignettes featuring limewash murals with subtle botanical patterns, every detail of the showroom is rooted in marine references to fully immerse visitors in the world of Tuuci.”
Designed by Gensler, Tuuci’s immersive showroom experience begins with a curved glass storefront evocative of a wind-filled sail. Past reception and product displays, an island hospitality bar invites guests to stay a while. Different zones allow Tuuci employees and their clients to find focused workspaces, meeting rooms, and social gathering areas. Overall, the 4,500 square foot space has a relaxed, convivial atmosphere that will serve clients as a hospitable and inspiring creative workshop. Customers will be able to experience the comfort and quality of Tuuci’s outdoor collections firsthand, including parasols, cabanas, lounges, garden planters and hammocks. They can also browse the customizable features Tuuci offers, from premium finishes and fabrics to built-in heating and lighting.
“We designed the space so designers can engage with the product and explore great possibilities for their projects,” said Todd Heiser, Managing Director at Gensler. “It’s exciting to be able to help Tuuci bring an incredible showroom experience to the Chicago design community.
“Tuuci’s highly customized Chicago showroom was designed to display their elegant products and host the city’s dynamic design community,” said Gensler Principal Helen Hopton.
“Subtle marine references ground the space in Tuuci’s story and provide a timeless backdrop to the flexible product vignettes and specification displays.”
As the world’s largest design center and home to the leading annual gathering of commercial design professionals, The Merchandise Mart is an ideal location for Tuuci to showcase its marine grade design innovations and customization capabilities. Design professionals are invited to tour the new space during NeoCon in Showroom #1419.
